1,303 companies from 35 countries. 100,000 net square metres of exhibition space. Over 50 Spanish companies will occupy 4,600 sqm.
The EMO, considered the largest and most important international trade show dedicated to machine tools and manufacturing technologies, was presented last June 23th in Madrid. The show will be held in Milan this year, from 5 – 10 October.
Promoted by CECIMO (the European Committee for Cooperation of the Machine Tool Industries) and organised by UCIMU (Association of Italian Machine Tool Manufacturers), EMO 2009 was presented by Pier Luigi Streparava, EMO MILANO 2009’s General Commissioner, Pasquale Terracciano, the Italian Ambassador in Spain, Riccardo Gaslini, the Technical Exhibition Manager of UCIMU, and Xabier Ortueta, the Managing Director of AFM (the Spanish Association of Machine Tool Manufacturers).
Despite the complexity of the world financial situation, EMO 2009 was defined by its organisers and participants as an essential event for all those who make the decisions on industrial equipment investment, as the leading world machine tool manufacturers will be presenting the latest technologies and know-how applied to industry.
With a view to softening the blow of the financial crisis on the real economy, the show’s organisers have launched several special initiatives aimed at helping companies make the most of the business opportunities offered by EMO 2009.
The companies that have registered for the event include Agie Charmilles, Biglia, Bost, Comau, DMG, DMTG, Doosan, Goratu, Danobat Group, Nicolas Correa Group, Riello Sistemi Group, Haas, Hermle, Yamazaki Mazak, Mori Seiki, Okuma, Pama, Samco, Schutte and Soraluce from the chip removal sub-sector; Amada, BLM Group, Ficep, Finnpower, Prima Industrie and Schuler from the metal forming sub-sector; Bosch Rexroth, Fagor Automation, Fanuc GE, Heidenhain, Siemens and THK from the components and accessories area, and over 200 tool manufacturing companies.
As regards the participation of Spanish machine tool manufacturing companies, 31 companies have registered to date, occupying a surface area of 3,875 sqm. A total of 53 Spanish companies will participate in the event and have reserved a total exhibition space of 4,615 sqm.
Since 1975 - the year in which the first EMO was held - Spanish machine tool manufacturing companies have played a major part in the successive trade shows, always under the coordination of AFM. This is the world’s largest machine tool event and the main world showcase for manufacturing technologies, and together with the BIEMH it is the most relevant international event for the Spanish machine tool sector.
